1. Data We Process

• Account and identity data: Firebase user ID, anonymous-account status, email address, display name, authentication provider, and provider profile-photo URL when supplied by Google, Apple, or another sign-in provider.
• Learning data: lesson and sentence progress, learning-path position, daily-goal activity, saved sentences, bookmarks, and learned word identifiers. This data can be stored locally and in Firestore.
• Reports and support: lesson and sentence identifiers, report reason, optional comment, timestamp, user ID, and information you include when contacting support.
• Subscription data: RevenueCat app user ID, product and offering identifiers, purchase and entitlement status, purchase and expiration dates, store, transaction history, and related purchase metadata.
• Technical data: Firebase, Google Play, RevenueCat, and their infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, device or operating-system information, app version, request timestamps, diagnostic information, and security logs when their services are used.

We do not receive full payment-card details. Google Play or Apple processes payment information. The app does not request microphone access, precise location, contacts, or the user's photos.

2. Purposes and Legal Bases

• Provide accounts, synchronization, learning progress, saved content, and requested app features: performance of our contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
• Process purchases, restore Premium, and provide subscription support: performance of our contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
• Maintain transaction and accounting records: compliance with legal obligations, including Swedish accounting requirements (Article 6(1)(c)).
• Review reports, improve lesson quality and reliability, secure the service, prevent fraud, and diagnose technical failures: our legitimate interests in operating a safe, accurate, and reliable learning service (Article 6(1)(f)). We balance those interests against user privacy and limit the data used.
• Respond to ordinary product and subscription support: performance of our contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
• Respond to privacy-rights requests and regulatory enquiries: compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)).
• Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims: our legitimate interest in protecting the company and users in disputes (Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not use personal data for third-party advertising, sell personal data, or make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.

3. Subscriptions and Purchases

Daily Swedish 5 uses the applicable app store billing system and RevenueCat to provide and manage auto-renewing subscriptions. RevenueCat acts as a service provider for purchase validation and entitlement management.

Subscriptions must be managed or cancelled through the store where they were purchased. Deleting the app or a Daily Swedish 5 account does not automatically cancel an active store subscription.

4. Service Providers and Sharing

We disclose only the data needed for these providers to perform their services:

• Google Firebase for authentication, cloud data storage, security, and deletion processing. See Firebase privacy information.
• RevenueCat for purchase validation, entitlement management, restoration, and subscription support. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
• Google Play and Apple App Store for billing and subscription management. See Google's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.
• Sign-in providers selected by the user, such as Google or Apple, to authenticate the account.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to establish or defend legal claims, or to protect users and the service. We do not sell or rent personal data.

5. International Transfers

Some providers may process data outside Sweden or the European Economic Area. Where GDPR Chapter V applies, we use an applicable adequacy decision, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and supplementary safeguards where required. Provider data-protection terms describe their current locations and transfer mechanisms. You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

6. Retention

• Local learning data remains until it is cleared in the app, app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled.
• Account and cloud learning data remains while the account is active and is removed when an account-deletion request is completed, normally within 30 days.
• Sentence reports are normally retained for no more than 24 months, or deleted earlier with the associated account, unless needed for an active security, abuse, or legal matter.
• Support correspondence is normally retained for up to 24 months after a request is closed, unless a longer period is required for an active dispute or legal obligation.
• Purchase and accounting records are retained for the period required by Swedish law, generally at least seven years. Records that must be retained are restricted to the required purpose.
• Operational and security logs are retained according to the provider's documented schedule and only as long as reasonably necessary for reliability, security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Backups and distributed systems may take a limited additional period to overwrite, during which deleted data is isolated from ordinary use.

7. Account and Data Deletion

In the app, open Profile > Account Deletion. If you cannot access the app, follow the public account-deletion instructions or email support@daily5lang.com. The process covers Firebase Authentication, associated cloud learning data, uploaded sentence reports, and the RevenueCat customer linked to the Firebase UID.

Store purchase records controlled by Google or Apple and records we must retain by law are not erased through the app request. Account deletion does not cancel a subscription.

8. Your GDPR Rights

Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

9. AI-Generated Lesson Audio

Lesson pronunciation audio uses a prebuilt synthetic Swedish voice generated by Sina Software AB with Microsoft Azure Speech. It is not a recording of a person speaking each lesson. Audio is generated during content production; playing lesson audio does not send the user's voice or microphone data to Azure.

10. Children

Daily Swedish 5 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided data should contact us.

11. Security and Changes

We use access controls, provider security features, data minimization, and restricted server credentials to protect data. No system can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy and will update the date above; material changes will be communicated where required.
